Seasonal Export Fumigation for Australia and New Zealand


Dear Valued Customers,

Between 01.09.2025 and 30.04.2026, seasonal fumigation is mandatory for exports to Australia and New Zealand to prevent the introduction of the brown marmorated stink bug (DAFF / MPI).

Australia: applies to departures from Germany between 01.09.2025 and 30.04.2026
New Zealand: applies to departures from Germany between 01.09.2025 and arrivals in New Zealand by 30.04.2026

LCL options in this timeframe:
 Pre-fumigated containers with Sulfuryl Fluoride (SF) for all of Australia and New Zealand
 Additionally non-fumigated containers, currently available for NZAKL, AUSYD, and AUMEL, after signing the Letter of Indemnity (subject to local authority approval)

IMPORTANT: With the booking confirmation, you will receive a flyer with the link to the current Letter of Indemnity (LOI). The LOI must be returned fully completed within 24 hours. If not received in time, fumigation will be carried out automatically. Any resulting costs, risks, or delays will be at the shipper’s expense.

Fumigation costs: €38 per w/m (minimum €120), included in the FOB charges.For shipments via Rotterdam or Antwerp, the same conditions apply –rates may differ.
