UPDATE - Strike US Eastcoast and US-Gulf


Dear Valued Customers,

The International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA), representing dock workers on the US East and Gulf Coasts, has announced the possibility of a strike beginning on October 1, 2024, if a new contract is not agreed upon before the current one expires on September 30, 2024. If the strike occurs, it could lead tosignificant delays and backlogs in container shipments at these ports.

LCL Imports:
In the event of labor action, an Emergency Port Congestion Surcharge of USD 20 w/m, with a minimum charge of USD 20, will be applied to LCL imports departing from US East and Gulf Coast ports starting October 1, 2024. Effective October 26, 2024, this surcharge will increase to USD 35 w/m, with a minimum charge of USD 35.

These surcharges will remain in effect until the situation stabilizes. Please be aware that due to the uncertainty of the situation, the amount and the date of application can be reviewed at any time.
