Potential Strike - US Eastcoast and US-Gulf

Dear valued Customer,

We would like to draw your attention to the fact that in view of a possible strike by port workers on October 1st, 2024 there may be considerable delays at all major ports on the US East and Gulf Coasts. If no agreement is reached between the International Longshoremen\'s Association (ILA) and the port operators represented by United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) by September 30, 2024, a work stoppage must be expected.
This strike would affect 60% of the entire US container volume.

Corresponding delays in the unloading and delivery of goods would have to be planned for, as the supply chains would be interrupted.

SACO Shipping will be happy to offer you alternative routes via Canada or the US West Coast in the event of a strike.

For further information please contact your local SACO Shipping Team.
